For outdoor swimmers, all year
Svalk shows the water temperature where you swim, logs every dip and looks out for you when you swim alone.

From Oslo's harbour to Skagen. Find your spot on the map, or add your own jetty.
Including Sørenga, Huk, Nordnes sjøbad, Telegrafbukta, Ribersborgsstranden, Långholmens klippbad, Tylösand, Amager Strandpark and Svanemøllestranden.
Svalk reads the Norwegian Meteorological Institute's ocean model for your spot and says it plainly. Drag the thermometer.
Ice cold. A minute or two is plenty.
Water data: MET Norway (CC BY 4.0). Temperatures are estimates; lakes have no water model, so you add your own reading there.

Log a dip in two taps: time in the water, temperature and whether you had a sauna after. Svalk counts weeks in a row and keeps your season day by day.
Start a check-in before you go in. If you're not out in time, your buddy gets one text.
5, 10 or 15 minutes. You add your buddy once.
Your phone reminds you 2 minutes before, and again when time's up.
If you haven't checked out 3 minutes after the deadline, we send one message.
Svalk is not an emergency service. In danger, call 112.
Check-in running
Kari gets a message if you don't check out in time.

Make a group for your swim crew, club or office and share the code. Or join a public group.
The board never ranks time in the water or how cold it was. Nobody should push themselves to win.
Svalk follows both seasons: winter from October to April, summer from May to September. Rosa swaps her beanie for a sun hat.

No. Svalk creates an anonymous account the first time you open it. Sign in with Apple is optional and only moves your data to a new iPhone.
Your location is only used on the phone to find nearby spots. It is never sent to us. Water data is fetched for the spot's coordinates, not yours.
Not yet. Svalk is for iPhone. Write to us if you'd like to hear when Android arrives.
